What is Occupational Therapy (OT)?

The medical practice that focuses on improving function and engagement in meaningful activities (occupations). With such a broad scope, OT's can adapt to support most goals. 

What can OT's help with? 

OT's can help with emotional regulation strategies, sensory-informed therapies, motor development, engagement, communication, and activities of daily living (eating, sleeping, toileting etc). 

How long are sessions?

Sessions last for up to an hour.

Do we need an assessment before Therapy? 

We highly recommend booking an OT assessment before therapy. If you can't afford a full assessment, please do get in touch; we'll do our best to accommodate you. 

What age does my child need to be to access these services? 

We can offer assessments and subsequent therapy to children and young people aged 4 - 16. 

You mentioned Meaningful Occupations, what are these? 

For a child, the most meaningful occupation is play. Other occupations include attending school, sleeping, and making friends. 

What does a therapy session look like? 

A lot of thought goes into every session; all are unique and designed to engage the child in question. Sessions can include: climbing, going to the play park, visiting an animal sanctuary, music-based therapy, and many, many more!!!

Would I need to book weekly sessions? 

Simply put...No! We want our service to be accessible, regardless of your financial situation. We will work with you to find a plan that fits your budget. 

Are parents welcome at the sessions?

Absolutely! We encourage you to come and join in on the fun. By attending, parents can learn valuable skills and strategies.
